For a while now I've had these programs hidden away in my many piles of diskettes, never seeing the light of day, not to mention the lamp-light in my basement! Well, I've finally decided to release them to the Public Domain. I still own the rights to the programs, etc, but the programs can be distributed in any way desired except for profit. However, this may be used by the Glenside Color Computer Club for its Disk of the Month Club. The programs found on this diskette were written years ago in my early programming days. My lack of experience at that time shows through in many of the programs. This text file will provide very basic information on how to run the programs and which keys operate the programs. All of the programs are written to run with a program named J-MASTER.BAS. If you have a CoCo 1 or CoCo 2, then you need to RENAME "OLDER.BAS" TO "J-MASTER.BAS". If you have a CoCo 3, then you need to RENAME "NEWER.BAS" TO "J-MASTER.BAS". Renaming the appropriate file to "J-MASTER.BAS" is a one-time thing. You don't need to do that each time you want to run J-MASTER.BAS. Next, at the OK prompt, type RUN "J-MASTER" [ENTER]. This will start up the main program. After the title screens, etc, you will have an option screen. Choose '1' to load in a program. When asked for the file-name, you may type DIR for a directory of all the J-Master programs on the diskette. If you are running the CoCo 1 & 2 version of the J-Master program, you may not be able to load in certain programs. The reason is that they require special CoCo 3 capabilities and J-Master recognizes this and will not let you load those programs on a CoCo 1 or 2. The error message you get may be confusing, though. J-Master will tell you that the program is not a J-Master file. Don't worry about it. If you are running on a CoCo 3, you will not have this problem. Also, you may type DOS at the OK prompt instead of RUN "J-MASTER" if you have DECB 1.1 or 2.1. List of games which have been released to Public Domain by Joel Mathew Hegberg, plus control keys... Use the last option, "Reset J-Master system" to re-load the main program to get rid of a J-Master program in memory so you can load up another game. Enjoy! -- Joel Mathew Hegberg.
